Friendlier Food Offerings
Locally-grown fruits, vegetables and herbs
The hospital's Pavilion Grille features locally-grown fruits and vegetables, and hospital-grown herbs and spices — cultivated in the Diversity Garden located in the Brechbiel Garden — in its cooking and food preparation. In addition, they also sell seasonal organic fruits and vegetables from local farms, including apples, broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, radishes, green beans, and much more.
AMH serves milk that is free of recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH). This hormone has been proven to have adverse affects on animals and may be harmful to humans. The Wawa Dairy, AMH's dairy supplier, receives their milk from local independent family farms that sell exclusively to them.
Fair Trade Starbucks coffee is served in the Pavilion Grille. Fair Trade-certified coffee means that farmers receive a fair price for their product, and in turn, ensure that decent living and working conditions are provided to their employees.
