This class is offered as a compliment to the Breastfeeding Basics class. The focus of this lecture will be guided towards breast pumps, and the various types to meet your needs. Insurance companies are now required to follow new guidelines that will ensure women receive preventive health services at no additional cost and provide breastfeeding support, supplies and counseling. This class will discuss how expectant parents can navigate through these guidelines. We will have many products including nursing bras, breast pumps and nursing pillows on display. Many styles of breast pumps will be available for demonstration. Taught by an RN with IBCLC credentials, this class is helpful to better understand which pump you would need and prepare you for how and when to use them. Breast milk storage guidelines, building a breast milk supply, returning to work as a nursing mom, breastfeeding in public and what the current laws say about your rights as an employed breastfeeding woman are included.
