Fellowship Faculty

The Program Director is Gintaras Antanavicius, MD, FACS, who completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Minnesota. He joined Abington Memorial Hospital’s Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery in 2008 and serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Temple University School of Medicine and Drexel University College of Medicine.

The Associate Director is Fernando Bonanni, MD, FACS, the director of the Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and Clinical Assistant Professor at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Abington Memorial Hospital’s Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery is recognized as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).
