- 28 faculty members in the Department of General Surgery including supporting faculty from Vascular, Colorectal, Pediatric, Bariatric, Surgical Oncology and Trauma services.
- A broad subspecialty faculty from Orthopaedic Surgery, Otalyngology, Neurosurgery, Urology and Plastic Surgery
- ACGME accredited residency program of 27 AMH residents
3rd Year Clerkship
- Students
- DUCOM: 4 per 12 week block
- TUH: 4 per 8 week block
- PCOM: 1 per 4 week block
- Structure
- DUCOM: 8 weeks general surgery, 1 week anesthesia, 2 weeks sub-specialty service, 1 week trauma
- TUH: 7 weeks general surgery, 1 week trauma
- PCOM: 4 weeks general surgery
- Lectures
- School and student specific, up to three times per week
- Inclusion at core resident lectures delivered during protected time
- Wednesdays 7 – 8 AM
- Thursdays 7 – 10:30 AM
- Schwartz Rounds: (Optional) Medical Grand Rounds and Schwartz Rounds held on Wednesdays
- Call and Weekends
- No more than every 5th night, overnight, in-house
- Saturday and Sunday rounds, only if on call
4th Year Sub Internship
- One student per 4 week block, arranged individually with the Department of Surgery
4th Year Electives
- Advanced subspecialty clinical experience is available. Contact the Department of Surgery for availability and assignment
Physician Assistant Students
- 1 Arcadia University 2nd year student for 4-week rotation in General Surgery
- 1 Philadelphia University 2nd year student for 6-week rotation in General Surgery
- Structure, lectures and call are generally the same as for 3rd year medical students. Variations occur based on rotation length.
