Third Year
Brent Beddis, D.O.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
A native to the Philadelphia suburbs, Dr. Beddis grew up an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He became a Nittany Lion fan during his undergraduate studies at Penn State, where he majored in Pre-Medicine. It was there that his love for medicine and health care grew and he returned to Philadelphia to attend medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. During his training, he began volunteering in center city Philadelphia providing care to underserved and uninsured high school students. He worked closely with mentoring physicians and especially enjoyed conducting free pre-participation physicals to those who could not afford care. Dr. Beddis looks forward to a long career in Philadelphia, which will certainly include continued care for the underserved, and he also hopes that his future will include traveling and practicing medicine abroad. Professionally, he is interested in preventative, sleep, and sports medicine. May Lin, D.O.
Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Lin grew up in Northern California. She is a proud alumni of the University of California at Berkeley where she received her B.A. studying Molecular and Cell Biology and Education. In 2006, she started osteopathic medical school at Touro University, CA where she discovered and embraced the osteopathic philosophy of improving health and evaluating the patient as a whole. Professionally, family medicine was a natural extension of this osteopathic philosophy. Dr. Lin has a special interest in research, teaching, and helping others from diverse backgrounds find healing in their lives.
Dr. Lin’s passion for the underserved is reflected in her experience promoting literacy, encouraging kids in the inner city to pursue higher education, and providing healthcare for children, the homeless, and the uninsured immigrant population in San Francisco. In hopes of improving healthcare for the patients who inspire her, Dr. Lin is active in health policy work as a Training in Policy (TIPS) Fellow. Dr. Lin also served as National Chairperson for residents in the Postgraduate American Academy of Osteopathy (PAAO). Curtis Olson, M.D.
Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University
Dr. Olson is a lifelong Pennsylvanian who grew up in the beautiful town of Clearfield. He came to the medical field in a nontraditional way, having first earned a degree in music education from Bucknell University. Two years later the idea of being a physician came to him and he completed a post-baccalaureate certificate at Penn State and entered Jefferson Medical College. His favorite job before medical school was working in a group home for developmentally disabled men and he hopes to someday make the care of this underserved population a priority. He has also worked with JeffHOPE, a Jefferson student-run clinic for the homeless in Philadelphia. Peter Ransmeier, M.D.
Temple University School of Medicine
Dr. Ransmeier was born and raised in Concord, NH. He attended St. Paul’s School and then went to Amherst College where he received a B.A. in History. He worked as a hospital transporter at Concord Hospital before going to Bryn Mawr College for a Post Baccalaureate in Premedical Studies. Philadelphia has been his home since that time. He attended Temple University School of Medicine where he also did some research in sepsis and bariatric surgery. At Temple Dr. Ransmeier worked with a population that was largely medically underserved and he continues to recognize the importance of helping with that patient population. During medical school Dr. Ransmeier enjoyed participating in a community service project cleaning the neighborhood around the health science campus. Christine Stroka, D.O.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Stroka was born and raised in a small town outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania. She attended college at Lehigh University, earning her B.S. in Biochemistry. Following graduation she moved to Philadelphia to fulfill her dream of becoming a physician and attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her professional interests are broad and include women’s health, preventative medicine, pediatrics and geriatrics. During medical school Dr. Stroka enjoyed working with the underserved. She helped organize and lead nutrtion workshops at a local women’s shelter and Philadelphia teen outreach. Dr. Stroka hopes to continue similar projects at Abington Family Medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Stroka enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has a great love of the outdoors and can be found running, skiing, hiking and camping. Jennifer Thuener, M.D.
Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University
Dr. Thuener was born in California, grew up in the prairie of Colorado, and spent her youth riding horses, raising cows, pigs and sheep, and dreaming of being a doctor. She attended college at University of Northern Colorado, and obtained a degree in Chemistry.
She always dreamed of moving to the east coast and took the plunge by attending Jefferson Medical College. While at Jefferson, Dr. Thuener was very involved in community service, holding the positions in JeffHOPE, a student run program that gives medical care to the homeless of Philadelphia, and as the Community Service Liaison in the Robley Dunglison Learning Society, where she organized for the group to work at Grace Cafe, an overnight retreat for the homeless on cold winter nights. Dr. Thuener chose family medicine because she is devoted to quality, long term primary care, and loves the whole spectrum of patients that she will be taking care of, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Dr. Thuener plans on practicing in a rural environment and being the quintessential family doc. Dr. Thuener choose to attend Abington for her family medicine residency because of the excellent training and the opportunities to continue working with the underserved. Phuong Tien, D.O.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Tien was born in Saigon, Vietnam and came to the States in 1993 at the age of 12. She has personally experienced the devastating effects of inadequate healthcare, which has inspired her to be a compassionate and passionate physician to all patients regardless of religion, gender, social economic and cultural backgrounds. She attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown. She graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine with a specific interest in Sports Medicine and Geriatrics. Dr. Tien has participated in providing physicals at the South Philly High School and physicals in Chinatown. During her three years at Abington, she hopes to provide healthcare and screenings to the underserved in the community In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, singing karaoke, dancing, running, hiking, reading, attending arts events, and exploring the world. Josya-Gony Charles, M.D.
Drexel University College of Medicine
Dr. Josya-Gony Charles is a native Philadelphian and Haitian by heritage. She attended the Johns Hopkins University where she received a B.S. in Psychology and Barry University where she received her M.S. in Biomedical Sciences. She attended Drexel University College of Medicine and while there held several positions ranging from the local chapter level to the Board of Directors of the Student National Medical Association. Her professional interests include eliminating health care disparities, mentoring students interested in the health sciences, international medical missions, urgent care and teaching. Chester Clark, M.D.
Drexel University College of Medicine
Dr. Clark was born in Valdosta, GA and raised in Chattanooga, TN. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis and attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He was a student volunteer at the Chattanooga homeless health care center. He also participated in a community health internship while in medical school and worked at a local shelter for recovering drug and alcohol addicts. He helped educate the residents of the shelter on health related issues and instituting a proper diet and exercise regimen. He was a personal trainer before and during medical school. Even though he is a Southerner at heart, he has grown to love the Philadelphia area. Evan Guthrie, M.D.
Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University
Dr. Guthrie was raised in Columbus, Ohio. He earned a B.A. in Chemistry at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. While there he volunteered as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician, and met his lovely wife, Alix. Evan attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed three years of General Surgery residency and decided he wanted a career that allowed him to have more family time and switched to Family Medicine. Evan’s interests in medicine include women’s health, acute care and palliative medicine. Alison Lee, D.O.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Lee was born in San Francisco and raised in Carlisle, PA. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Religious Studies, focusing on Biomedical Ethics. Her post-baccalaureate year at Penn State and her AmeriCorps position working with the underserved helped her to develop focused goals as she entered medical school. Her involvement with Physicians for Social Responsibility has helped her to continue to advocate for improved access to health care. Dr. Lee gained valuable clinical and teaching experience in musculoskeletal medicine as a Teaching Fellow in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and plans to incorporate these skills into her practice. The breadth of Family Medicine enables her to focus on her particular interests of Women’s Health, Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, and Integrative Medicine. She loves to spend time outdoors and considers herself an eco-friendly citizen. Megan Madsen, D.O.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Madsen was born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended college at Kent State University in Ohio, where she initially studied Dance and Performing Arts and ultimately obtained a B.A. in Psychology. She moved to Philadelphia to receive her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her professional interests include geriatric medicine and women’s health. She chose a career in Family Medicine because of the field’s emphasis on preventative medicine and patient education. In her spare time, Dr. Madsen is an avid baker and animal lover. Andrew Rosner, M.D.
Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University
Dr. Rosner was born and raised right here in Abington. He stayed local for both his undergraduate education at The University of Pennsylvania where he received a bachelor’s degree in Biological Basis of Behavior and medical school at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. While in medical school, he was involved with a broad area of community service activities and loved many aspects of medicine. He began a residency in Radiology as he was drawn to the broad depth and breadth of the field but realized immediately that he truly missed the direct patient contact that drew him into medicine. He switched into Family Medicine after his first year of Radiology residency to allow him to have patient contact and to continue to deal with a wide scope of medicine including Pediatrics, Women’s Health, and Geriatrics. Dr. Rosner lives in Center City with his wife and newborn son. William Vaughan, Jr., D.O.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Vaughan was born and raised in suburban Philadelphia and is a West Chester University graduate with a B.S. degree in Cell & Molecular Biology. He earned his D.O. from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to joining the Abington Family Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Vaughan completed an Internal Medicine Internship at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Portsmouth, VA. After completing internship, he served four years as a medical officer at various commands with the U.S. Marine Corps, last serving in the Sierra Nevada Region. In addition to his interests in the wide breadth of family medicine, his professional interests include wilderness, mountain, and environmental medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys motorcycling, running, kayaking, camping, traveling, and just about anything outdoors, as well as enjoying the company of his family, friends, and dog. Kate Baranck, D.O.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Baranck was born and raised in Pelham, NY. She graduated from Catholic University in D.C. where she studied Psychology and Drama/Music. After college, Dr. Baranck worked as a medical assistant in Cardiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Dermatology practices for three years. While working, she completed a Post-Baccalaureate certificate at Manhattanville College in New York and entered into Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Professionally, her interests include geriatrics, women’s health, and nutrition. Outside of work, Dr. Baranck loves to travel and has spent a lot of time in South America working with underserved communities within Bolivia and Brazil. In her spare time, she enjoys running, lacrosse, skiing, swimming, singing, and dancing. Nothing is more important to her than spending time with the people that she loves, especially her wonderful husband, loving family (pets included) and friends. Kathryn Bowry, M.D.
Drexel University College of Medicine
Dr. Bowry grew up in nearby Chalfont, PA and attended Central Bucks West High school. She went out to northwestern Pennsylvania to attend Allegheny College in Meadville, PA where she majored in Biology and minored in Psychology. Dr. Bowry received her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine where she was president of the Family Medicine Interest Group. Her passion for family medicine began in medical school when she realized how much she enjoyed the opportunity to get to know her patients and develop relationships with them over time. Her professional interests within Family Medicine include Geriatrics and Palliative Care. In her spare time, Dr. Bowry enjoys bike riding, running, tennis, going to Philadelphia Flyers games and spending time with her husband Jason, family and friends. William Callahan, D.O.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Callahan was born at Abington Memorial Hospital. He graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School and went on to attend the University of Scranton, where he graduated with a B.S. in biology, with minor focuses in history and philosophy. He earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Through his medical education, William had the opportunity to provide medical care to underserved populations, which he hopes to continue as a family physician. Other professional interests include osteopathic manipulation, palliative care, and preventative medicine. Outside of medicine, William enjoys community involvement and civic engagement. Debra George-Reichley, M.D.
Temple University School of Medicine
Dr. George-Reichley was born and raised in nearby Lansdale, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Cornell University where she competed on the gymnastics team and earned a B.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. She is also a graduate of the University of Delaware where she conducted research on the biomechanics of gait and earned an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduate school she enrolled in Temple University School of Medicine to pursue a career as a physician. She chose Family Medicine because of its broad scope and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients.

Priya Mathew, D.O.
Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Mathew was born in Philadelphia but raised a short distance away in Bensalem, PA. She returned to Philadelphia to attend college at Drexel University, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology. She later joined the Philadelphia Department of Public Health's Immunization Program as a Research Assistant, where she worked as a part of the Varicella Active Surveillance Project and promoted varicella vaccinations among pediatric and adult populations. Dr. Mathew moved to New York City to attend medical school at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her medical education, Dr. Mathew focused her energy in participating in various Harlem-based volunteer activities, which included teaching nutrition lessons at area public schools, serving at Harlem soup kitchens, and assisting with community health fairs. Her professional interests include public health, geriatrics, and preventative medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Mathew serves as a lead vocalist in multiple chorale groups in the Tri-State area. Margarita McDonald, M.D.
Tufts University School of Medicine
Dr. McDonald was born and raised in Montgomery County. She earned her B.S. from Ursinus College with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. For medical school she travelled to Boston and earned her M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine. After medical school she wanted to return home and completed 2 years of post-graduate training in Obstetrics/Gynecology at Temple University Hospital only to discover this was not her passion. For the past 4 years she has been working as a general practitioner in correctional medicine. While working in correctional medicine she discovered her passion lies within preventative, obesity, sports and addiction medicine. She chose Family Medicine as her specialty because she would be able to incorporate her professional interests and help the family unit as a whole become more knowledgeable about healthy lifestyles. Dr. McDonald is looking forward to a lifetime commitment to helping her community. Outside of the hospital, Dr. McDonald can be found cooking, training for a race, fixing something at her house, watching the Eagles, and spending time with her boyfriend, family, friends and pets. Neha Rastogi, D.O.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Rastogi was born in Patna, India and came to the United States in 1996 after having spent most of her childhood in Ireland. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Minor in Spanish from Haverford College. During her undergraduate career, her interests in foreign languages, travel, and medicine led her to spend a semester abroad at King’s College Pre-Medical Program in London, England. Her experiences as a student, combined with her volunteer work at a women’s shelter in her hometown of Easton PA, inspired her to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Rastogi earned her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she was actively involved in numerous organizations advocating Women’s Health. Her professional interests include Women’s Health, Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, traveling, fine dining, singing and reading.
