Expectant parents have many questions about parenting and caring for a newborn. This lecture will cover many topics including feeding choices, jaundice and newborn testing performed at the hospital which include hearing screenings and state mandated testing. Also discussed is how to choose a Pediatric Care Provider for your baby, immunizations, what to expect when you go home with your newborn, SIDS, safe sleeping, tummy time, car seat safety and general newborn heath concerns. Offered through our Department of Pediatrics and Childbirth Education, this class will have a representative from our Pediatric Staff as well as a Certified Childbirth Education Nurse available to answer your questions. Grandparents often find that they have many questions and are welcome to attend this lecture as well. This lecture is offered free of charge several times a year and requires pre-registration as space is limited.
