More of Our Community Turn to Lansdale Hospital
for Emergency Care

Recent data indicates that the numbers of patients coming to Lansdale for emergency care has grown by more than 10 percent over the previous year. At the same time, overall patient satisfaction from December 2008 to June 2010 has risen from 34% to 93%. And more people (94% versus 24%) are recommending Lansdale Hospital to family members and friends.

“We’re certainly pleased that admissions (up 5% in fiscal year 2010) and other measurements are growing, but what’s particularly impressive is that our community appears to be happy with the care being provided at Lansdale Hospital,” says Gary Candia, CEO, Lansdale Hospital. “Inpatients who are likely to recommend our hospital rose from 16% to 66% from December 2008 to June 2010.

“We successfully completed our Joint Commission survey in February 2010, and continue to implement new programs to improve patient safety and the inpatient experience,” Candia said.

Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Recognized as Center of Distinction

Lansdale Hospital’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine recently received the Center of Distinction Award. The award honors the outpatient center for high patient satisfaction rates, exceptional healing results, and outstanding clinical outcomes during the calendar year 2009. The tribute was presented by Diversified Clinical Services, the hospital’s partner in wound healing.

The center specializes in the treatment of complex wounds such as diabetic ulcers, compromised skin grafts and flaps, lymphedema and other chronic wound conditions.

Staffed by physicians in a wide range of specialties, along with certified wound care nurses, clinical hyperbaric managers, technicians, and support staff, the center also provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used to hasten the healing of wounds due to radiation tissue damage and certain types of infection, using oxygen levels that are higher than the atmospheric pressure to promote faster wound healing.

The Center is located at Lansdale Hospital on the second floor of the patient tower. For further information, please call 215-361-6782. AMH also offers wound center services.
