Memory Fitness Center
Designed to sharpen the memory skills of older adults who are showing signs of memory loss or have recently been diagnosed with dementia, the Memory Fitness Center provides four-hour sessions, which include activities designed to minimize memory loss and eldy symptoms by stimulating the mind.

Memory and Healthy Aging-FREE
A fun and practical presenation on how to improve your memory. Learn to cross train your brain, take control of your memory, improve brain function and remember what you are starting to forget. Registration is required and class size is limited.

Diabetes Education
The Diabetes Center offers a Diabetes Self Management Training program at three locations: AHC- Schilling Campus, AHC-Warminster Campus, and now our newest location at Lansdale Hospital. Our program has been Recognized by the American Diabetes Association for Quality Self-Management Education*.
Both group classes and individual sessions are offered. Our sessions provide a wide range of topics, including meal planning, diabetes medications, preventing complications, exercise, and making adjustments for daily living.
The Diabetes Center uses a team approach for education and counseling, with you as the key member of the team. Registered nurses and registered dietitians, who are also certified diabetes educators, are dedicated to helping each person gain control of their diabetes while maintaining an optimal state of health and well being. Together, the team will design an individualized plan that matches your lifestyle and educational needs during this transition to our program.
Diabetes Education: A six-session prgram for individuals with diabetes and their family members.
Learning to Take Insulin: One-session program covers injection of insulin and related topics (a copy of your insulin order is required).
Prevent Type 2 Diabetes: With modest weight loss and physical activity, you can reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Attend this interactive program and start making healthy changes. This class is for adults who may have risk factors, including high cholesterol, high blood pressure, weight issues and family history.

Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Information Sessions- FREE
Bariatric surgery is the only proven prescription for long-term weight loss for those struggling with obesity. Please join us for an informational seminar- we'll explain your options, answer questions and show how our program can literally save your life.

Abington Fitness Institute
Medically supervised exercise to help you achieve your fitness goals. The Fitness Institute is also recognized by many insurance companies, which offer reimbursements.

Breast Cancer Education and Screening- FREE
This program is offered several times a year, and is supported by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Philadelphia Affiliate to accomodate a diverse population of women. Women 40 years of age or older, uninsured or underinsured, who have not had a mammogram for one year are encouraged to register. Free clinical breast examination, mammogram, breast cancer awareness education and instruction in self-breast examination are provided. The program is provided in a welcoming environment with special attention to the cultural and language assistance needs of women. On-site interpreters are available. All printed information is provided in the language of choice.

The Pilla Heart Center
Heart and Stroke Risk Assessments and/or Blood Pressure Screenings- Free
Community-based free heart and stroke risk assessments and blood pressure screenings are offered at a variety of locations. Take steps necessary to monitor your blood pressure and assess your risk for stroke. No registration is required; walk-ins welcome. Nurses provide information about how to prevent heart disease or control blood pressure.

Family and Friends CPR Anytime is a self-directed, personal CPR kit that makes learning the core skills of CPR easy, convenient, affordable and fun for the whole family. It takes 22 minutes to learn, and can be done anywhere. This kit does not provide certification in CPR.

Smoking Cessation Program
Abington Health is committed to helping those who are trying to quit smoking. The American Lung Association Freedom From Smoking Program is a six-week program that features a straightforward, realistic approach giving information and techniques for conquering the three ways smokers are linked to cigarettes: addiction, habit and psychological dependence. Classes are offered at Abinton Memorial Hospital in the Blank Vasucular Center conference room and at Lansdale Hospital. A minimum number of participants are required to hold a class.
