Food & Nutrition
Pleasant mealtimes are not only part of good patient care, but are also important diversions during the day. We want to make your meals as appealing as possible. All patients are offered menus from which they may select items best suited to their individual tastes. A host or hostess from the Nutrition Department will visit with you to offer a variety of food choices. The selections you choose today are served to you tomorrow.
Meals are delivered by the Nutrition Department's host or hostess. They can assist patients with menu selections, alternative offerings, and any questions regarding patient meal service. The diet prescribed by your physician may differ greatly - low fat, low salt, etc. - from the food you eat at home. A Clinical Dietitian is available for counseling and answering any questions you may have. Some X-rays, certain blood tests and most surgical procedures require an empty stomach. Your mealtime will be changed accordingly. You will be informed in advance.
Guest tray menus are available at the nurse's station.
