That's why our team of cardiac professionals is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of heart disease.

At Lansdale Hospital we provide an extensive array of consultative services and treatment for the entire spectrum of cardiac disorders including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, rhythm disorders, hypertensive heart disease, and congestive heart failure.  From diagnostic testing, to Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit admissions, to the Cardiac Fitness Program, we can meet your needs. Education and rehabilitation are provided by expert staff in the Cardiac Fitness Center.

Are you at risk for Cardiovascular Disease?
Patients with known risk factors should consult their physicians. The following factors may increase your risk:

Noninvasive Testing
The noninvasive cardiac laboratory includes tools to diagnose a variety of cardiac disorders. Studies can provide doctors with information about heart valves, heart muscle and the coronary arteries as well as possible congenital heart abnormalities. The following is a list of noninvasive procedures available:

  • Transthoracic echocardiograms with Doppler
  • Contrast (bubble study) echocardiogram
  • Transesophegeal echocardiograms
  • Exercise testing:
  • Treadmill exercise testing
  • Pharmacologic (non-exercise) nuclear perfusion scans
  • Exercise nuclear perfusion scans
  • Exercise echocardiograms
  • Dobutamine echocardiograms
  • Vascular ultrasounds of carotid arteries, extremity arteries and veins
  • Nuclear ventriculograms (MUGA), Nuclear viability studies (thallium)

Cardiac Arrhythmia Service
The Arrhythmia Service provides extensive diagnostic and treatment options for patients with cardiac rhythm disturbances

Diagnostics:

  • Electrocardiography
  • 24 to 48 hour ambulatory Holter ECG monitoring
  • Pacemaker evaluations

Treatments:

  • Antiarrhythmic drug therapy
  • Electrical cardioversions
  • Pacemaker implantations and programming
