Managing Your Pain
Lansdale Hospital offers evaluation,
treatment and follow-up care for a
wide range of pain conditions.
Over 13 million Americans suffer from chronic, intractable pain. Pain so intense that many find it difficult to work, sleep or maintain a satisfying quality of life. That's why we offer comprehensive pain management services - to provide prevention, management and treatment services for those who are living with acute, sub-acute or chronic pain.
Chronic pain may leave you feeling angry, frustrated or helpless. Our highly trained staff is here for you, helping to provide appropriate and effective treatments close to home. Our goal is to make all of our patients as comfortable as we can. When you are in our care, various members of our team will ask questions about the type and severity of your pain. Remember that your communication is essential so that we can customize a treatment plan that is right for you.
Each case is assessed individually and objectively. The nature, cause and severity of your pain will be thoroughly evaluated. This may include a physical examination, additional testing, medical history review and diagnosis. We'll recommend a customized pain management or treatment program, geared toward maximizing your potential and increasing your functional capabilities.
On a scale of zero to 10, how severe is your pain?
That depends on the individual. Every person has a different tolerance for pain. We ask our patients to use a scale to rate their pain from zero (no pain) to ten (the worst pain). The pain scale helps our physicians determine how the pain impacts each individual. One person might identify a level of pain as an eight, while it might be a ten to someone else. There is no reason for anyone to endure chronic pain. Our experts understand pain syndromes and know how to manage them as effectively as possible using the most sophisticated pain management techniques.
