Wound Healing Centers
The Wound Healing Centers of Abington Health offer a highly-specialized service to assist
patients who are challenged with treating a hard-to-heal wound or are living
with a stoma or fistula. Our expertise and experience enable us to properly
diagnose the cause of your wound and treat it accordingly.
We specialize in treating wounds or sores related to circulation, diabetes,
trauma, radiation, and other underlying conditions such as collagen and autoimmune
diseases. We are partners in each patient’s treatment. Using a
multi-disciplinary approach, we provide individualized plans, non-invasive
vascular studies, direct care, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, self-management
education, and counseling by registered nurses trained in hyperbaric medicine
and certified in wound care. In addition, our physicians specialize in Internal
Medicine, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry and Vascular Surgery, and are trained
in wound care and hyperbaric medicine.
Research indicates that specialized centers for treating wounds improve outcomes by providing early and coordinated access to the full range of medical, surgical, and nursing
interventions that may be required. Our Wound Healing Centers offer
state-of-the-art innovative care and personalized attention to meet the
patient’s needs. Healing is no longer just an outcome, but an expectation.
