Enrich Your Life with Service to Others
Our goal at Lansdale Hospital is to promote and improve the health and welfare of our neighbors in the region.
The hospital was founded by the volunteer spirit of one physician, Frank Boston, MD, and his contemporaries who believed in service above all else. Our caring family of volunteers represents a vital, ongoing link between the hospital and the community we serve.
It is a classic example of caring individuals giving back of themselves to others; many Lansdale Hospital volunteers were once hospital patients whose stay was made better by a volunteer's helping hand, gentle smile or kind word.
Every community member has something to add, a talent or gift. All it takes is a commitment of time - not a lot of time - and the desire to make a difference in others' lives. Our volunteers perform tasks in virtually every area of the building. They greet visitors, deliver flowers to patients and serve 36 departments in the hospital. So many tasks, so many people, so many lives are touched by a simple gift - the gift of yourself.
We hope you will consider sharing your time, talents, caring and dedication with us and all the members of our hospital family. We believe you'll find your life enriched through your service to others. Be assured each hour you spend as a volunteer at Lansdale Hospital - employee, patient, visitor or volunteer - will go far toward helping us meet the demanding needs of our friends and neighbors.
Volunteer Service Awards
A luncheon is held annually to say "thank you" to our family of volunteers and salute their commitment of time and caring. Each year, dozens of Lansdale Hospital volunteers combine to offer tens of thousands of hours of service. Those volunteers who have logged 500 or more hours receive Lansdale Hospital service award pins to wear with pride. More than one Lansdale Hospital volunteer has logged over 10,000 hours!
Teen Volunteers
If you are between the ages of 14 and 18, enjoy helping people or are considering one of the healthcare professions as a career, why not join Lansdale Hospital's family of volunteers? The Teen Volunteer Program has positions open year-round for kind, enthusiastic, motivated students. We'll work with your available after-school hours and special areas of interest. Teen Volunteers receive service award pins at 200 hours.
