Pastoral Care Volunteers
Pastoral Care volunteers partner with staff chaplains to provide supportive care with a particular focus on patients newly admitted to Abington Memorial Hospital. They receive special training in basic spiritual care in the hospital setting; with particular emphasis on the multi-cultural and interfaith context found in our hospital.
Providing spiritual care of this kind is both challenging and rewarding. Our volunteers, through their giving and caring, help others and receive much in return. The Pastoral Care volunteer team is just one small part of Abington Memorial Hospital’s volunteer program that plays an integral role in providing support to patients and families new to our hospital.
