No One Dies Alone (NODA) program
Goals of the program:
That no patient dies alone
That we create a “good death” experience for patients and families
Honor, respect and maintain the dignity of patients especially in their final hours
Support families in this most difficult and stressful time
Bereavement support group: Abington Memorial Hospital provides an adult bereavement program for families/friends who have experienced a loss.
Monthly throughout the year
Fall and spring, eight-week intensive groups
The bereavement support group is facilitated by a clinically trained hospital chaplain, but is not a faith-based group. The group meets in the Pastoral Care Services conference room. There is no fee for this service. The service is extended to all families/friends of patients at the hospital.
Sharing Infant Loss Support Group: Abington Memorial Hospital provides bereavement support group for families who have experienced fetal or infant loss called “Sharing Infant Loss.” The group meets monthly and co-facilitated by a chaplain and nurse from the maternity department.
