Our Vision

In accordance with Abington Health's stated vision to be the most trusted healthcare partner, it is the policy of Abington Health to offer financial assistance to individuals based on their ability to pay. This policy applies to Abington Memorial Hospital, Lansdale Hospital, the Abington Health Physicians, Ambulatory Clinics, Home Care, Hospice and Home Infusion.

Financial assistance eligibility

Eligibility for financial assistance is determined by the patient's or his/her guarantor's ability to pay, after all insurance and available resources (excluding retirement funds) have been utilized. The program covers payment for medically necessary care, but does not cover routine co-pays and deductibles for patients having medical coverage unless a hardship can be documented. The program also excludes services deemed not medically necessary, such as cosmetic surgery or fertility services.

Applicants must have the necessary verification of income, resources and other information needed to process the application. Submission of financial and medical expenses is required when claiming a medical or financial hardship.

The Patient Service Center of Abington Health is a resource for receiving information regarding other social programs that may help pay for your medical care, such as: the free Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), the Low Cost CHIP, the AdultBasic Program for Adult Pennsylvanians, and the Medicaid Program that provides free health care coverage for children, adolescents and adults who qualify.

Also, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has programs available to help qualifying individuals pay for their Medicare Part B premium. The programs are designed to help the senior population or individuals with disabilities who are eligible for Medicare to pay some or all of their Medicare Part B premium. You may also secure the application to apply for a Social Security Card from AMH's Patient Service Center.
