Support Group and Other Events

Monthly Support Group

The Bariatric Surgery Support Group offers an open forum for bariatric patients to discuss and share their experiences. The group is available to pre- and post-operative patients or for those considering weight loss surgery. A nurse and dietician are always present to provide resources and answer questions.

Support group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Frobese Auditorium, Lenfest Pavilion, Abington Memorial Hospital, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001.

Walk From Obesity

Join the Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery for a 5K Walk From Obesity, sponsored by Abington Memorial Hospital and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and Obesity Action Coalition (OAC).

(registration tent is located between Blairwood and Willowood buildings)

fee: $25 per person before September 29 ($35 the day of the event)
Children are free (12 and under)
