Emergency Stroke Response
At The Diamond Stroke Center, we treat stroke like the emergency it is.
Call “911” right now if you or
someone else is having sudden
weakness or numbness in the
arm or leg, dizziness, falling or
any other symptoms of stroke.
Getting help quickly is vital to
minimize stroke damage!
Our stroke team stands ready 24/7 with interventional neurologists and other stroke specialists in the Emergency Trauma Center at Abington Memorial Hospital, the only state-designated regional trauma center in Montgomery County.
This team is prepared to respond quickly whenever a stroke occurs. We scored 100 percent in meeting American Stroke Association guidelines for rapid treatment of ischemic stroke, compared to the national hospital average of 76.3 percent.
Patients benefit from our deep experience in the latest methods for treating stroke and the advanced technology of our Neurovascular Laboratory.
To help patients get treatment faster, our stroke and emergency medicine specialists provide stroke education and technology support to area emergency medical services (EMS) squads. We help EMS personnel learn to use stroke diagnostic scales to evaluate patients and notify us while still en route.
This partnership and coordination enables our emergency stroke response team to treat life-threatening strokes quickly when patients arrive at the hospital.
