Blood Cancer Treatments
(Also see Cancer / Treatments / Chemotherapy)
Often administered on its own as primary treatment for blood cancer, chemotherapy is a systemic, or whole body, treatment that destroys cancer cells to stop them from growing. It may be given as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
Our medical oncologists and nurses educate patients before chemotherapy about what to expect during treatment, possible side effects and helpful tips. Attending physicians are accessible 24-hours-a-day to help manage chemotherapy side effects.
