Breast Cancer Treatments
(Also see Cancer / Treatments / Hormonal Therapy)
Women whose diagnostic tests show they have hormone-positive breast cancer – estrogen-positive (ER+), progesterone-positive (PR+), or both – are often recommended for hormonal therapy. This lowers the risk of breast cancer returning after initial treatment, such as surgery and chemotherapy, is completed.
Hormonal therapy medicines include tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors.
