Colon Cancer and Rectal Cancer Treatments

Chemotherapy

(Also see Cancer / Treatments / Chemotherapy)

Often administered after surgery, chemotherapy is a whole body treatment that destroys colon and rectal cancer cells to stop them from spreading. It may be given as outpatient or inpatient treatment.

Our medical oncologists and nurses educate patients before chemotherapy about what to expect during treatment, possible side effects and helpful tips. Attending physicians are accessible 24-hours-a-day to help manage chemotherapy side effects.
