Gastrointestinal Cancer Treatments
(Also see Cancer / Treatments / Chemotherapy)
This whole body treatment may be administered before or after surgery or radiation for gastrointestinal cancer, on its own, or along with radiation.
Chemotherapy destroys cancer cells to stop them from spreading. It may be given as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
Our medical oncologists and nurses educate patients before chemotherapy about what to expect during treatment, possible side effects and helpful tips. Attending physicians are accessible 24-hours-a-day to help manage chemotherapy side effects.
