Gynecologic Cancer Treatments
Techniques to protect fertility are available for women with a gynecologic cancer diagnosis who are concerned about preserving their ability to become pregnant after treatment.
These fertility-sparing treatments include:
- cone biopsy for early stage cervical cancer
- removal of the cervix while preserving the top of the uterus when appropriate (radical trachelectomy)
- reversal of early stage uterine (endometrial) cancer with hormonal therapy
- preservation of uterus and/or one ovary, when appropriate, in ovarian cancer
