Head and Neck Cancer Treatments
(Also see Cancer / Treatments / Surgery)
For some small head and neck cancers, surgery to remove the cancer may be the only treatment needed. Surgeons might also remove some lymph nodes.
Other therapies may be needed for larger cancers and to protect the voice box. A laryngectomy (removal of vocal chords) may be necessary to effectively treat certain cancers.
Our advanced operating suites, outfitted with the most technologically up-to-date equipment, promote patient safety and best outcomes.
We focus on the human side of the surgical experience as well. In our patient-friendly operating rooms, nurses provide warm support within a calm and healing environment, known as the Sacred Space, that helps put patients at ease. Through soft music, scenic murals, dimmed lighting and our nurses’ gentle touch and dedicated attention, patients receive personal and comforting care.
