Lung Cancer Treatments
(Also see Cancer / Treatments / Chemotherapy)
Administered before or after surgery or radiation for lung cancer, or on its own, chemotherapy is a systemic, or whole body, treatment. It destroys cancer cells to stop disease growth and may be given as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
Our medical oncologists and nurses educate patients before chemotherapy about what to expect during treatment, possible side effects and helpful tips. Attending physicians are accessible 24-hours-a-day to help manage chemotherapy side effects.
