Prostate Cancer Treatments
(Also see Cancer / Treatments / Chemotherapy)
Patients with prostate cancer that does not respond to hormonal therapy may receive chemotherapy with one or more drugs.
Chemotherapy is a whole body treatment that destroys cancer cells to stop them from spreading. It may be given as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
Our medical oncologists and nurses educate patients before chemotherapy about what to expect during treatment, possible side effects and helpful tips. Attending physicians are accessible 24-hours-a-day to help manage chemotherapy side effects.
