Blue Distinction Centers for Complex and
Rare Cancers
In March 2008, Independence Blue Cross announced that The Rosenfeld Cancer Center was selected as one of the Delaware Valley's four Blue Distinction Centers for Complex and Rare CancersSM. Abington Memorial Hospital received the Blue Distinction Center designation for its comprehensive inpatient cancer care programs delivered by multidisciplinary teams with subspecialty training and distinguished clinical expertise in treating complex and rare cancers, as well as, for its major surgical treatments for these rare types of cancer.

Our accreditation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons assures patients that Abington's Rosenfeld Cancer Center meets the highest national standards for prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment.

A free Cancer Helpline (1-800-405-HELP) is available to our community and our patients for information about diagnosis, treatment options and support services. Our cancer information and referral specialist, Meredith Kessler, an oncology clinical nurse specialist, can answer any questions about the hospital, our physicians and services.
