Home Infusion
Coping with a medical condition that requires infusion therapy can be challenging. Our services provide individuals with medical supplies and education in the comfort of home. We offer medical services that enable patients to return to familiar activities at home or at work.
About Home Infusion
Abington Memorial Hospital's Home Infusion Program provides a multi-disciplinary team approach. Our high-tech infusion services assist patients in meeting short and long-term infusion therapy needs in their own environment.
Our team consists of the ordering physician, hospital liaison, infusion specialists, registered nurses, a PharmD led pharmacy group and a registered dietician. Infusion services are provided by IV- and PICC-certified staff for pediatric and adult patients, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The team coordinates the provision of pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment needs. Response to therapy is monitored and recommendations are communicated to physicians ordering prescribed care. All patients and caregivers are provided education services specific to their therapy. The staff can coordinate additional home care support services, including medical/surgical/palliative nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, wound management and psychiatric care.
