Allergy and Immunology

Physicians in this specialty diagnose and treat disorders of the immune system, including common conditions, such as: asthma; hay fever; and allergic reactions to drugs, insects and food. Skin and blood tests, as well as evaluations of the patient's environment, are used to diagnose the condition. Immunologists are also concerned with less common disorders, such as eosinophilic esophagitis and immune deficiency states.
