Pediatrics

Members of the Department of Pediatrics provide a full range of services for infants, children and adolescents. At Abington Memorial Hospital, services are further enhanced by CHOP Pediatric Care at Abington Memorial Hospital — a cooperative program operated as a joint venture with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The 15-bed inpatient facility is permanently staffed by three full-time CHOP faculty pediatric hospitalists. This unique community-based program combines the renowned expertise of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with the high quality pediatric care available at AMH. Consultations are readily available on the inpatient service by CHOP specialists in cardiology, gastroenterology and pulmonary medicine. Additional medical specialties in the department and on the attending staff include community-based experts in allergy and immunology, gastroenterology, hematology, neurology and psychiatry. Abington Memorial Hospital supports a growing number of subspecialties in children's surgery which, in addition to general pediatric surgery now include dentistry, ophthalmology, orthopaedics and urology.
