Memory Fitness Center
This program offers physical and social activities on an outpatient basis to sharpen the memory skills of older adults who are experiencing early memory loss or have been recently diagnosed with dementia.
Seniors gain support and friendship from others attending the program, which helps them feel more comfortable and confident. Participants choose their own activities and the number of four-hour sessions they wish to attend.
By stimulating the mind, the Memory Fitness Center can help minimize memory loss and delay symptoms. Activities include:
- Physical exercise
- Literature discussion
- Current events
- Guest speakers
- Support group
- Information and referral
How to Participate
Individuals are encouraged to attend as often as they would like. Each session hosts up to 18 people and lasts four hours (morning and afternoon sessions available). The cost is $35 per session. Physician referrals are not required.
The Memory Fitness Center is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Abington Health Center-Warminster Campus (second floor, main building) and on Wednesday at Lansdale Hospital (ground floor, classroom C).
