Mary T. Sachs Breast Center

The beautifully-appointed Mary T. Sachs Breast Center was renovated in the summer of 2010 and features computer-aided detection (CAD) digital mammography to ensure the most accurate diagnosis.  Instead of the x-rays of the breast tissue being stored on film, digital mammography converts the image into a digital picture for review and storage on the computer.  This results in image quality that is 15% more accurate than film.  The computer-aided detection feature highlights areas of concern on the mammogram to which the radiologist should pay special attention. It’s like a second set of eyes.

Located at Abington Health Center – Schilling, the Mary T. Sachs Breast Center has been accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers and designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.  With the ACR designation, you can be assured that this facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, and quality control. 

In addition to mammography, our comprehensive breast services include:

• Breast ultrasound
• MRI of the breast* (including bi-lateral breast MRI)
• Stereotactic breast biopsies (guided by mammography images)
• Ultrasound-guided breast biopsies
• MRI-guided breast biopsies*

Mammography and biopsy services are also available at Lansdale Hospital and Abington Health Center – Warminster.
